Watching the absolute dysfunction that is the Republican controlled Congress, I started to muse whether or not the president would be better if they lost control of the government. It may be true that President Trump could get more things done with a Democrat controlled Congress. Since the right seems to be incapable of governing, then maybe a change could get things moving in this nation.
The Republican Party has gone up in flames on the federal level. Nothing is getting done and they have become the biggest impediment to the populist agenda of President Trump. Frozen in failure, the Republican Party has been exposed to be a bait and switch con job. The party has raised billions of dollars promising the public this or that. How is that not fraud? If you knowingly go around selling false ideas and then raise ungodly money on it, is that not a crime? Is that not a conspiracy? What about racketeering? It seems to me there are countless laws violated here. Maybe we need a special prosecutor to look into the RNC side by side with the Clinton Foundation. Where is all of this money going?
Bill Clinton in the 1990s had a Republican Congress and got a whole lot done including balancing the budget. Maybe President Trump needs the Democrats to control Congress so he can wheel and deal and move this nation forward. In the hands of the Republican Party, the nation slogs along at barely one percent growth. Maybe the president should campaign for some Dems in 2018 and just turn his back on his failed party. If this combination can lead to a single payer system or Medicare for all, I would be a big supporter. I am shocked that after getting control of Congress, the Republican Party could not handle it. However, there are way too many problems to worry about party loyalty. Maybe it is time for divided government?
