The free, two-day event features music and Saturday night fireworks.

MILTON – Two days of music with a view of the Boston skyline and the Neponset River basin is on tap for this weekend at the fifth annual Milton Music Fest at Gov. Hutchinson Field on Adams Street.

The event runs from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, concluding with fireworks. “Celtic Sunday” will be from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m on Sunday and features many of Boston’s best Irish bands, musicians and vocalists.

Admission is free.

Headlining the Saturday bill is the 10-piece band, “Chicago Total Access,” a tribute band celebrating the 50th anniversary of the band “Chicago.” They will take the stage at 8 p.m.

The rest of the Saturday schedule is: 3 pm., local Milton and Quincy artists; 4 p.m., Bob Marley tribute band The Duppy Conquers; 5 p.m, The Franc Graham Band; 5:30 p.m. The Neville Sisters; 6 p.m., The Trasak Trio; and at 6:45 p.m. Divas with a Twist.

The lineup for Celtic Sunday includes Margaret Dalton and Erin’s Melody, Jinty McGrath, Danny Gill and The Old Brigade, Sean Brennan and The Skiffs, Curragh’s Fancy, The Fenian Sons, Pauline Wells of Milton, DEVRI and other prominent Irish performers.

In addition to music and fireworks, there will also be food, beer and wine, volleyball and a 9-hole mini golf course.

For children, there will be a giant sandbox, and inflatable slide combo, and free air-brush tattoos.

Those planning to attend should bring a folding chair or blanket, sunscreen and bug spray.

No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed.

The Forbes House Museum across the street from the field will hold a “Historical Treasure Hunt” for children on the grounds from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Between 1 p.m and 2:30 p.m Sunday, there will be special free tours of the Forbes House focusing on Capt. Robert Bennet Forbes trip to Ireland in 1847 and the early Irish immigrants who comprised the majority of the house’s domestic staff.

Sections of Adams Street will be closed during the event. Parking with free shuttle service is available at the Fontbonne Academy/Labouré College lots, 303 Adams St., both Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available on Wharf Street in Milton Village, but the shuttle service will only operate on Sunday.

Parking will also be available on Adams Street in Milton Village and on designated sections of Adams and Randolph streets.
